In the panel discussion „Found in Translation“ the author, curator and co-founder of the „Kashmir Photo Collective“ Alisha Sett, the artist Max Pinckers and the photographer, author, curator and lecturer Joan Fontcuberta deal with processes of translation regarding readability and visualization, negotiation and critical interrogation of meaning, rewriting and reinterpretation. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Friedrich Weltzien they question the contextualization as a condition of the production of meaning and effectiveness. What can emerge when contexts, formats and genres are changing? Which possibilities open up through the blurring of borders between image and text and by allowing the polysemy of images?
