Areas of teaching: Portrait photography, short-form design, photography for newspapers and magazines.
Prof. Michael Trippel, born in 1964 in Friedrichshafen, studied photography at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts from 1985 to 1991. Since then, he has photographed reportages and portraits freely and on behalf of national and international editorial offices.
For ten years, starting in 1999, he was a member of the Ostkreuz Photographic Agency, serving as its managing director from 2006. From 2008 to 2013, he was a contract photographer for STERN magazine. In addition to his journalistic work, he photographs for companies, associations and organizations.
After teaching positions in Berlin, Magdeburg and Potsdam, he has been teaching at the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography program since 2013.
