Nadia Zaboura is a communication scientist and linguist. She graduated summa cum laude with a Magister degree from the University of Essen. For more than 14 years she has worked as a freelance consultant for media companies, businesses, associations and foundations. Her focus areas are democracy, digitalisation, diversity, education and media.
As a media critic, Nadia Zaboura continuously analyses German media coverage of Palestine and Israel, of right-wing extremism and authoritarianism, and its consequences for social cohesion and democracy. In 2025 she published the book ‘Medien zwischen Macht und Ohnmacht’ on the future of German journalism together with two academic co-authors. Her media criticism earned her a nomination for the audience award of the Grimme Online Award, and she received the Bert Donnepp Prize.
As an expert, Nadia Zaboura advises newsrooms, politicians and institutions, gives talks and moderates professional events. She also works as an evaluator for the European Commission, is a jury member and jury chair of the Deutscher Radiopreis, and sits on the board of trustees of the Grimme Research College ‘Media and Society in the Digital Age’.
