Teaching areas: Fine Art Printing

Anna-Kristina Bauer (*1987 in Erlangen) is a photographer and produces multimedia formats.

In 2016 she completed her studies in photojournalism and documentary photography with a project on Nowa Huta, the post-socialist planned city. Her work explores the search for identity and the limbo between youthful recklessness and the demanding reality of adulthood.

She sees photography as an image-making medium in private and public space and draws connections to moving images in film and video. Producing images in analogue and digital form plays a part in finding the visual language of each project.

In 2012 she won the Grimme Online Award with the multimedia agency 2470media, and in 2018 she won the Canon Profifoto Förderpreis for the third time. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions at Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven, Faktyczny Dom Kultury in Warsaw, Wiesbadener Fototage and Galerie Bohai Hannover, among others, as well as at photo festivals.

Anna-Kristina Bauer and Andreas Graf co-founded the project space Goethe Exil Hannover, where they work on exhibitions, workshops and new cultural formats.
