Lion Knirsch
Lion Knirsch, born in 2001, grew up in the hill town of Obernkirchen, close to its famous sandstone quarries. A voluntary year in archaeology and several blog posts written for the Varus Battle Museum led him to his passion: journalism with a focus on history in all its facets.
He has been studying journalism at Hochschule Hannover since 2022. Learning from the mistakes of history, and letting that shape his work, matters to him personally – experience, after all, is the best teacher. Lion is particularly keen to make complex historical connections simple and easy to understand.
