The path to a new degree.

During the induction week, the 43 first-semester students have the opportunity to get to know Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts better.

The new students were given the task of interviewing each other and introducing themselves to the group afterwards.

The induction week for new first-semester students at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts begins on September 23. There will be an extensive programme during these days. This will give first-year students four days to get to know Faculty III at Expo Plaza and their future fellow students in detail. For example, students can take a guided tour of the faculty’s own library in the Kurt-Schwitters-Forum or find out more about the work of the student council. On the second day of the induction week, things really get going: students are personally welcomed to their degree programme by their future lecturers. The meeting point for this is on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the atrium next to lecture hall EP 2.

This year, 43 students are starting their studies on the “Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography” course at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The majority of first-year students have already been able to successfully prepare for the selection process through one of the free portfolio consultations offered by Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts. It is pleasing to note that a large proportion of those who took part in the artistic aptitude test actually decided to study at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts afterwards. Another positive trend can also be observed: At more than 69 percent, the proportion of FLINTA* individuals is particularly high this year. This means that the new generation of students clearly contradicts conventions in the traditionally male-dominated sector.
