Andreas Graf
Teaching areas: Fine Art Printing
Andreas Graf explores socio-documentary themes in his independent work, moving through the microcosms of German society. He likes to set people against technical, mechanical elements.
After school he first studied biophysics, and in 2010 he began studying photography in Hannover. Since 2013 Andreas Graf has worked not only as a photographer but also as a video producer. This includes camera work on corporate and documentary productions as well as designing and producing visual elements for theatre and music performances.
Andreas Graf has a special relationship with old technical devices, especially vintage photographic equipment. Over the years, repairing and using analogue photographic technology has given him a distinctive set of skills, which feed into his ongoing independent projects and commissions.
Andreas Graf and Anna-Kristina Bauer co-founded the project space Goethe Exil Hannover, where they work on exhibitions, workshops and new cultural formats.
