Nele Cumart
Nele Cumart is a queer German-Turkish dancer, activist and journalist. She has been studying journalism at Hochschule Hannover since 2023. Alongside her studies, she writes as a freelance journalist for the HAZ and NP newspapers. For the HAZ, Nele most enjoys working as a critic, covering cultural events such as concerts, readings and theatre.
Before switching to journalism, she completed two years of dance training in Sweden, only to realise afterwards that dancing for a living wasn’t for her after all.
In her own journalistic projects, Nele writes primarily about people whose stories often find no place in the white, heteronormative media world.
