Andreas Blauth
Andreas Blauth, born in 1999 and raised in Meerbusch in the Rhineland, studied communication design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen before switching to the ‘Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography’ programme at Hochschule Hannover. His photographic and film work moves between social and philosophical themes: how society deals with the finite nature of ecological resources and of our own lives, the estrangement between people and their environment, society’s relationship with human emotions and a critical look at ideals of masculinity are central to his work, which stylistically moves between the artistic and the documentary.
