Strong portraits move us, shake us up and hold us spellbound. These creative portrait ideas and approaches from working professionals will help you achieve exactly that.

A selection of six different portraits, alternating between close and distant

Traces

Lost place in the Harz: the abandoned Harzgerode sanatorium

Where children were once treated for tuberculosis, silence now reigns – a walk through crumbling walls.

Water

In 2022 Austria’s largest lake was at risk of drying up for the first time in 150 years. Our photographer Florian Sulzer investigated the causes.

Collecting

Work

A professional dancer at the limit: six and a half hours of training – every day

Robert Robinson dances to the point of pain – knowing that a single misstep could end everything he has worked for over the years.

Black-and-white photo of two men deep in conversation in a dimly lit room. One, wearing a roll-neck jumper, rests his hand on his head and listens closely, while the other, in a loose shirt, speaks expressively. Chairs and a shadowy background suggest a rehearsal or performance.

Work
