Antonia Bretschkow
Sensitive, inquiring and grounded in theory: that sums up
the work of Antonia Bretschkow.
The freelance journalist lives in Hannover, where she is studying ‘Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography’. She works in documentary photography and photojournalism, and also writes for the
Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung.
She was particularly shaped by her first bachelor’s degree, in political science. Her sociological perspective allows Antonia Bretschkow to understand wider political contexts without losing sight of individual people’s stories.
Her photographic work so far has explored community-supported agriculture, reproductive labour and psychosomatics.
