After Paris, Lyon is the second venue: until 20 November, seven students and alumni of our degree programme are showing their work at the Goethe-Institut Lyon – as part of the Resonance programme of the 18th Biennale d’art contemporain.

Until 20 November, seven students and alumni of the ‘Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography’ programme are presenting the exhibition ‘Metamorphosis. States of Change’ at the Goethe-Institut Lyon. Looking at current social and cultural tipping points, political conflicts and the transformation of ecological systems, the exhibition explores many forms of change. The projects lead to places where global developments are mirrored locally, and they link individual stories with collective realities. In doing so, they show that change never remains abstract: it is always inscribed in bodies, territories and systems, a visible trace of an ongoing process of adaptation, resistance and renewal.
After its presentation during Paris Photo last autumn, Lyon is already the second venue for ‘Metamorphosis. States of Change’. The exhibition is being shown to mark the 60th anniversary of the Goethe-Institut, as part of the Resonance programme of the 18th Biennale d’art contemporain.
‘Exhibitions let you engage directly with the audience in a way that many other forms of presentation don’t. Having the Goethe-Institut as a partner and the context of the Biennale gave us a great setting for showing our work,’ say Jasper Hill and Paul Geiersbach, who looked after the exhibition on site.
The exhibition features projects by Hannah Aders, Jonathan Funk, Paul Geiersbach, Valentin Goppel, Jasper Hill, Ludwig Nikulski and Nora Schwarz.
